With the research done on common herbicides found on the market to be too toxic for any use, do-it-yourselfers have discovered a better way to get rid of problem weeds and even grass between sidewalk edgings.

The Recipe:

1 gallon of vinegar (white or apple cider)
1/2 cup of dish liquid saop
2 tablespoons of salt

Mix and let the salt dissolve. Place in a spray bottle and go.

This weed killing mixture will kill any plant so remember to squirt the stems and leaves of the weed and not all around.

The homemade batch will kill best on hot days and when the weeds are juvenile. The salt and vinegar dry up the weed and its roots. The soap strips away the protective coating on the plant.

Instead of poisoning yourself, the air, land, and water table, make this recipe. Happy weed hunting.
